Harriette L.. Peterson

Harriette L. Peterson, 88, of Northcliffe Rd., Cortland, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 29, 2016.

She was born July 3, 1928 a daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Montague Ashley.

Harriette worked at several local companies, most recently at Brewer-Titchener and P&C.

She enjoyed the activities, especially playing cards, at the Homer and Cortland Sr. Citizen Centers. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.

Surviving is her daughter, Barbara L. Peterson (Bill Main) of Cortland; a son, Barre R. Peterson of Florida; grandson, Chad (Stacy) Peterson, a granddaughter, Kylie White; several nieces and nephews and her special aides, Stacy, Jessica and Dawn.  

Harriette was predeceased by her daughter, Sidra L. Peterson; a grandson, Shawn Peterson; brother, Edgar Ashley and a sister, Eleanor Ashley Dunham.

The family will receive friends at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. A gathering will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Upper Lisle Cemetery.

Harriette was a very special person who touched many lives with her smile and kindness. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
