Felicia E. Thomas, of Blue Heron Cove, Little York, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at the age of 93.
A lifelong Homer resident, she was born October 14, 1923 a daughter of the late Roy and Helen Tyler Bell and was a 1941 graduate of Homer Academy.
Felicia was a member for more than 60 years at the Homer Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and had helped with countless church lunches and dinners.
She retired from the Homer Central School where she was a bus driver for 23 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Felicia ‘Peggy’ (Harold) Foster and Louise (Jack) Thornton, both of Homer and April (Ted) Bainbridge of Little York, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Thomas of Tully; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard F. ‘Pete’ Thomas 1971; her son, Richard Thomas is 2009; a grandson, John Phillips in 2004; three brothers; Roy, Harold and Russell Bell and her sister; Georgia Webster.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St, Homer, with Rev. Vicki Burtson officiating. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer will be delayed until spring.
The family will receive friends and relatives immediately following the memorial for a celebration of Felicia’s life at Hi Lanes Bowling Center, 8 Prospect St., Homer.
