Tillie Cecelia James

Mrs. Tillie Cecelia James, 77, of Cortland, passed away following a brief illness on Friday, December 22, 2023.

She was born August 7, 1946, a daughter of the late Sam and Tillie Cooper.

Tillie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to those she loved.

Surviving are her six children, Cecelia (Sati) Singh of Charlotte, NC; Sam Cooper of Dryden; Randy (Jeanette) Cooper of Homer; Sibbie Lemus of Lake Katrine; Teddy Cooper of Cortland and Tiffany (Clay) Martinez of Dryden; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ira D. James on March 21, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, will be delayed until spring.

Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. James’ name may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
