Thomas James Barnhart

Thomas James Barnhart, 83, of Central Avenue, Cortland, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, following an extended illness. 

Thomas was born March 14, 1942, In Canton, NY to the late John and Freda (Garrow) Barnhart. He was predeceased by his wife Maxine Barnhart in 2004. 

Thomas is survived by his two children, Thomas E. (Claudia) Barnhart of Pine Bush, NY and Rebecca (Michael) Krueger of Indiana; siblings, Ramona Byrnes of Cortland, Lana Schumacher of Virgil, Eleanor Rivers of Batavia, and Leonard Barnhart of California; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Thomas was a long-time employee of Crescent Corset. He also worked for Walmart and Stinky’s Septic Services. 

Thomas was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Cortland. He enjoyed playing and watching golf in his free time. 

In keeping with Tom’s wishes there will be no services. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Canton, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.
