Sharon E. Cordary, of Main Street, Cortland, passed away following a brief illness on January 30, 2025 at the age of 78.
Sharon was born December 27, 1946, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Gilfoy Mulvihill.
Sharon resided in New York City and New Jersey for many years, retiring from General Motors corporate office in Manhattan after 40 years of employment. She relocated to Cortland three years ago to be closer to her family.
Sharon did not have children of her own but made sure any child that she spent time with felt special and loved. Following her retirement from GM she worked at her local YMCA in the child care room. She also held numerous nanny positions in NJ and kept in contact with those families, even after moving back to NY. Sharon was a dedicated Knicks basketball fan and loved a good bargain, she couldn’t pass up using her Kohl’s cash. Sharon had a generous spirit, especially for her family and friends.
Surviving is her loving husband, Michael G. Bode; her siblings, Carol Healy; Jackie Cole; Thomas Mulvihill (Cynthia); James Mulvihill; Patricia Mulvihill; Mary (Harold) Peacock as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Sharon was pre-deceased by her sisters, Barbara Cordary; Maureen ‘Moe’ Norris; and Ann Mulvihill as well as her brother, Michael Mulvihill.
In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, there will be no formal services, a celebration of life will be held later this year.
Memorial contributions in Sharon’s memory may be directed to the American Legion.
