Sara J. Helms

Sara Johanna Helms, 43, of Preble, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 11, 2021. 

Sara was born October 9, 1977, to her parents Constance R. Harter and John G. Helms.

She was a kind hearted, beautiful woman, who carried about a smile that could light up an entire room.

She is survived by her daughter, Kara E. Clark (Parker Whatley) of Haines City, FL, who she devoted all of her life and love to. Also surviving is her mother and step-father, Constance ‘Connie’ (Russell) Vinnedge of Preble; her father, John G. Helms of Cortland; two brothers, John (Sarah) Helms of Pompey, NY and Ryan Vinnedge of Scott AFB, IL; two nephews, Hunter Helms and Rory Vinnedge; two nieces, Lacie Cuevas and Mollie Vinnedge; her grandmother, Edith Harter; two step-sisters; a step-brother and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, NY.  A time of sharing will follow at 6:00 p.m.

Family and friends will gather in celebrating memories of Sara following the service at the Mountain View Restaurant, 6662 Route 281, Preble.
