Rosario “Benda” Paro, 80, of Pine St., Homer, passed away on February 28, 2019 in University Hospital, Syracuse following a lengthy illness.
A native of the Philippines, she was born September 26, 1938.
Benda was a devoted Catholic, she enjoyed crocheting and cooking and was always ready for a trip to the casino.
Surviving is her loving husband of 30 years, Keith R. Paro; five step-children, Keitha (Tom) Labouf of Cortland; Patsy (Roberto) Barajas of California; Peggy (Mike) Adkins of Cortland; Paula Paro of Lillington, NC and Sterling Lolar of Homer; and Rodney Paro. Also surviving is her sister, Lucy Fisher of Las Vegas; a brother, Manuel Corpuz of the Philippines; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer.
There will be a celebration of life for Benda following the service at the Homer American Legion, 63 South Main St., Homer from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
