Robert D. Riehlman, 88, formerly of Abdallah Ave., Cortland, passed away on September 16, 2020 in Chipley, FL.
Born January 10, 1932 in Cortland, he was the son of the late Harold and Katherine Alvord Riehlman. He received his bachelors in Engineering from Syracuse University.
Bob resided in New Jersey for 32 years, working as an engineer with the Department of Avionics Research & Development Lab in Ft. Monmouth, NJ, retiring in 1990.
For six years following his retirement, Bob and his wife, Pat, enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome, settling back in Cortland in 1996.
He was a longtime member of the United Presbyterian Church, Cortland.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, Patricia Schenck Riehlman of Chipley, FL; he is survived by his daughter, Roberta R. Dibble of West Long Branch, NJ; two sons, Bradley J. (Dawn) Riehlman of Chipley, FL and Philip O. (Dayla) Riehlman of Torrance, CA; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a brother, Hugh (Judith) Riehlman of Homer; sister-in-law, Ruth Riehlman of Homer, brother-in-law, William (Barbara) Schenck of Syracuse, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Kermit Riehlman.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and will be announced by the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home.
