Richard T. ‘RT’ Elmer, Jr., 48, of Homer, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2026 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
RT was born November 18, 1977 in Cortland, the son of Richard T. Elmer, Sr and Cynthia Fulford.
He was employed for more than 25 years as a custodian, at the former Sunoco convenience store and now Joe’s Quik Mart in Homer.
RT loved to bowl. He bowled in several leagues over the years, primarily at Hi Lanes Bowling Center in Homer. He enjoyed fishing and simply being outdoors.
He loved his family, his co-workers and his many friends he had made over the years.
Surviving is his father, Richard T. Elmer, Sr. (Heather Martin) of Homer; his mother, Cynthia (Kevin) Kennedy of Whitney Point; sister, Autumn (Matt) Silva of Goose Creek, SC; step mother; Donna Elmer of Endicott; a stepsister, Christina Racine of Cortland; nieces and nephews, Alan and Maddelynn Silva and Gabriella and Samuel Racine; as well as numerous aunts, uncles cousins.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for July 14, 2026 at the Pat Hill Community Building, Homer and will be announced when finalized. Interment will be in Scott Union Cemetery.
