Richard ‘Dickie’ Barber, 73, of McGraw, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
A lifelong area resident, he was born in Cortland on September 9, 1948, a son of the late Clarence and Winnifred Barber.
He was a dedicated and hard-working employee of Diescher Farms for many years. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Dickie was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and riding his four-wheeler. He loved spending time at his pond drinking a cold a Blue Light with his best friend and side kick dog, Diesel, and his family.
Richard was a man who loved the hermit life and being able to enjoy his passions. He will be forever loved, forever missed and forever in our hearts.
Surviving his wife, Lori J. Barber; his ten children, Ric (Lorraine) Barber; Rebecca (Kevin) Bradshaw, Christopher (Arlene) Barber, Benjamin (Michelle) Barber, Sunshine (Nick) Ensign, Tigh (Samantha) Barber, Thomas (Amanda) Barber, Joshua Barber, Kelsey (Zach) Nicholas and Kayla (Darren) Storie. Also surviving is his brother, Scott (Diane) Hamilton; his sister, Joyce (Thomas) Harkins, forty-one grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by a brother, John ‘Jack’ Barber.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer.
