Rev. Gary L. McCall

Reverend Gary L. McCall, 75, transitioned from this life to be present with the Lord on December 16, 2024.

He was a man of great faith, and served the Lord with all his heart. Gary was born in Cortland NY on June 21, 1949.

Gary graduated high school at 18 years of age and was drafted into the U.S. Military to serve heroically in Vietnam. Gary married the love of his life Susan J. McCall on August 18, 1984 and have spent the last 40 years happily married and serving the Lord faithfully together. Gary spent most of his life in the construction field; however, anything he did, he did unto the Lord.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Susan J. (Gilbert) McCall. Children, Tracie, Jessica, Katilyn, and John (Elise);  grandchildren, Brandi, Rhiannon, Hayley, Dakota, Gabriel, Kailyn and Reagan, and one great granddaughter, Siobhan; siblings, Doug McCall, and Elaine (Larry) Mitchell. 

Gary is preceded by his parents H. Russell and Claudia (Stephens) McCall.

Gary will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and church family.  He loved to sing and play guitar to worship his Lord and Savior and it caused him great joy to share the gospel message to all those he came in contact with. Gary will always be remembered as a man of Great Faith.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Abundant Life Church, 105 Elm St., Cortland. Calling hours will be held at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
