Paul E. Sheldon

Paul E. Sheldon, of East Homer-Baltimore Rd., Homer died unexpectedly on July 25, 2021 at the age of 52.

A lifelong resident of Homer, he was born December 18, 1968, to William and Ruth Boyden Sheldon. Paul was a 1988 graduate of Homer High School and attended Morrisville State College and Onondaga Community College, obtaining his degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting. 

For the past eleven years Paul had been employed at Square Deal Machining in Marathon and had previously worked at Cooper Tools and Carrier Corp.

Paul enjoyed snowmobiling, R/C cars and airplanes and was a computer ‘whiz’; building, programming, troubleshooting, diagnosing and saving many family and friends computers. 

He was a ‘Jack-Of-All-Trades’. Paul could invent, engineer and fix most anything. His loss will be felt by countless family and friends who relied on Paul to fix lawn mowers, cars, computers, and pretty much anything that needed fixing. He was a genius. 

Surviving is his loving wife of eleven years, Vonda L. VanDenburg Sheldon; his children, Daulton Sheldon of Cortland; Monique (Elijah) Sheldon-Kenny of Texas and step son Nicolas Marcin of Homer; his mother, Ruth (John) Catalano of Cortland; his father, William Sheldon of Tully; a sister, Holly (John) Carroll of Liverpool; a nephew, Jacob Carroll as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, NY. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Preble. 

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
