Michael Hill, of Cold Brook Rd., Homer, passed away following an extended illness on November 15, 2021 at the age of 69.
A lifelong area resident, he was born August 4, 1952, a son of the late Irvin Hill and Margaret Bull and was a 1971 graduate of Homer High School.
Mike was employed for 37 years at Brewers/Cooper Tools/Apex Tools, retiring in 2015 as a tool and die maker.
Mike was an avid reader and outdoorsman and a longtime hunter. He loved, and took great pride in gardening and was always ready to lend a hand on his tractor, whether mowing or plowing.
Surviving is his wife of 38 years Debra J. Rawson Hill; his children, Chad Hill (Athena) of Homer and Jessica L. Wright (Scott) of Homer; his seven loving grandchildren, Alexis, Kelcie, Jaime, Derick and Cadence Hill and Joseph and Vito Sonnacchio; and two sisters, Tamara Turner and Cynthia Almonte. He also has several nieces and a nephew and an aunt.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Jo-Ann Hill and his grandmother, Elva Hill.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, with Pastor John Aukema officiating.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
