Mia Lynn Puzo, age 46, of Amherst, NH passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH following a courageous 3-year battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Although her family and friends mourn Mia’s death, they celebrate the love, life and passion she brought into everyday life. Her energy and smile lit up a room.
Born in Ithaca, NY to Robyn (Share) and Dominick Puzo on March 8, 1978, Mia lived in Homer, NY most of her life.
She graduated from Homer High School in 1996. After her graduation from Oswego State College with her MA in Human-Computer Interaction in 2007, she moved to Massachusetts and eventually migrated to Amherst, NH where she worked as a Director, North American Sales Specialist at Nuance Communications Inc.
Mia packed so much into her 46 years. She traveled, loved attending concerts, doted on her cats and dogs, and took great pride in her gardening with a Guinness in her hand.
She became a wife and a mother and worked in a profession she loved, and put one foot in front of the other battling what she knew from the start was an incurable disease. She did so with grace, integrity, and courage.
Mia leaves behind many who loved her spirit and special zest for life, including her husband Bob Pitas, daughter Carmela Pitas, stepchildren Alexis Jordan and Robby Pitas, Mother Robyn (Share) Puzo, father Dominick (Lynne) Puzo, sisters Gina (Eric Barden) Puzo, Lianna (Kevin) Morgan, step-siblings Mary (Pete) Austerman, Kevin Penney, step grandmother Elizabeth Share, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and countless friends who loved and supported her endlessly on her journey - your love meant so much.
When you remember Mia, celebrate the good memories you have of her.
Remember that life is fragile and should be lived to the fullest.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024 at Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY, followed by a Celebration of Mia’s life at Homer Center for the Arts, 72 S. Main Street, Homer, NY from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
