Merrill W. Clark, 84, a lifetime resident of Spafford, passed away on August 11, 2025.
He was born August 30, 1940, a son of the late William and Evelyn Clark.
Merrill faithfully served and was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1958 to 1962.
He was Highway Superintendent for the Town of Spafford for 20 years. He had also worked 10 years at Monarch Tools as well as on several farms in the area.
Merrill was a 55-year member of the Spafford Fire Department and had served the town of Spafford on the Town Board and as Recreation Director. In his free time hunting, fishing family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roselea M. Clark; children, Pansy (Fred) Kennedy of Cayuga; James (Vicki) Clark of Homer; Violet (Randy) Stevens of Freeville; Andrew Clark of Spafford; and Lisa Towers of Lodi; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, Merrill Jay Clark; brother, Robert Clark; sister, Marian Wentz and a great granddaughter, Lilith Towers.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Spafford Fire Department, 660 Rt. 41 Homer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Spafford Fire Department.
