Martin N. Miller

Martin N. Miller, 72, formerly of Cortland, passed away on January 11, 2026 at Morningstar Residential Care Center, Oswego, where he had been a resident since 2023.

Marty was born March 7, 1953, a son of the late Paul and Evelyn Thornton Miller.

While in high school, he started work as a mechanic at Don Pickett’s Sunoco, where he worked for a number of years following his graduation from Cortland High School.

Marty loved racing, from NASCAR to snowmobiles. He went to several races, including the Daytona 500 and he raced snowmobiles in the area, often at Ander Land in Little York. He was also an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Surviving are his four sisters, Theresa Miller (Brian Miles) of Cortland; Patricia (Dan) Lyon of Homer; Cynthia (Scott) Courtney of Fonda and Bonita (James) St. Peter of Scott as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services for Mr. Miller will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment in Virgil Cemetery will be delayed until spring.
