Lynda A. Rawson of Bennie Road, Cortland, passed away at her home on August 19, 2020, while under the care of hospice and her loving family at the age of 82.
A lifelong area resident, Lynda was born July 7, 1938 a daughter of the late Harry and Ethel Robbins Davis.
She had worked at the former Brewer Titchener in Cortland and retired from Homer High School as a library assistant.
Surviving is her longtime companion, Mahlon Irish, Sr. and his family; her children and step-children, Steve Burk of Cortland; Jeff (Joni) Newton of Lumberton, TX; Melanie (Bill) Ensign of Marathon; Michele Peak of Homer and Becky McClure (Darrel) of Scotts Mills, OR. Also surviving is her brother, Jerry Davis (Beverly) of Cortland and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Lynda was predeceased by her husband's, LeRoy Rawson in 2008 and Wendell Burk in 1989.
Lynda’s family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Donald L Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer. We will be following NY State COVID-19 Guidelines. Masks must be worn at all times; social distancing practices will also be in place. During the funeral home visitation only a certain number of visitors will be allowed in the funeral home chapel at a time, so please be patient and prepared to wait outside.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
