After prolonged medical battles, Kenneth F. Ettenberger, Jr., 82, of McLean Rd., Cortland, was called home on July 1, 2024 at Gutherie Robert Packard Hospital, Sayre PA.
Ken was born February 10, 1942 in Elmira, a son of the late Kenneth F. and Mertie L. Bennett Ettenberger.
Ken took pride in his grocery career that began as a young man with ACME Markets and retired after 42 years of impeccable service from the P&C, Cortland as Produce Manager.
Ken found enjoyment watching sports, especially events involving his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, backyard bird watching, time in Florida, NASCAR and his Corvette.
Ken is survived by his wife Dee Ettenberger; three daughters, Laurie (Joseph) Reagan of Cortland; Karen (Jeff) Dailey of Ft. Myers, FL; Shari (Brian) Powers of Homer; six grandchildren, Bailey Reagan, Colby Reagan, Casey Dailey, Sean Powers, Conor Powers and Hunter Mclean as well as two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Walter Ettenberger of Hector; Joyce Hucul of Horseheads and Betty de Montozon of Spring Hill, FL as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Rhoda Ettenberger and wife Patricia Ettenberger.
Ken was much loved by his family, and will be greatly missed.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. His life will be celebrated privately by his family.
