Katherine E. Stevens

Katherine Stevens, 90, of Cortland, NY passed away on January 17, 2026 at Guthrie Cortland Nursing Center surrounded by her family.

Katherine was born on June 22, 1935, to Hugh and Hilda Williams in Boonville, NY.  After graduating from McGraw High School in 1954, she married the love of her life Junior H. Stevens.  They had two girls, Arlene and Diane.

Katherine worked for several years at Smith Corona in Cortland. After the plant closed, she worked and retired from the McGraw School cafeteria where she kept an eye on her grandchildren that attended school there. 

After retiring Katherine enjoyed spending time with her family, especially around a campfire or playing cards. She was an excellent bowler who also would beat her grandchildren at the video game Wii bowling.

Katherine was predeceased by her husband, Junior Stevens; her daughter, Arlene Hill and her grandson, James Hill.

Katherine is survived by her sister, Barb Hilfiker; daughter, Diane Stevens; her grandchildren, Michelle, Ken, Scott, Tamara, Julie and Jeffery, her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

Services for Mrs. Stevens will be private and at the convenience of the family.
