John F. ‘Jack’ Stage, 65, of Preble, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2023 in Daytona Beach, FL.
A lifelong area resident, Jack was born March 21, 1957 in Cortland, the son of the late Glenn and Bernice Dutcher Stage.
Jack was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was proud to be part of the Preble Fire Department as Fire Chief and was an avid sportsman, spectator of football (Cowboys & Orangemen) and NASCAR and participated in bowling, softball, pool and darts. Jack was loved and well known by many and will be dearly missed. After retiring from JM Murray Center as the Warehouse Supervisor, he and his wife spent the winters in Florida, where he also made many new friends. Jack easily made friends wherever he was. He also really enjoyed happy hour (Coors Light) with his buddies.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Corrine R. Stage; son, Kenneth Stage (Mimi) and daughter, Kelly Stage Bushey (Jeromy) and stepsons, Christopher, Joel, Eric and Kevin; his grandson, Nolan Bushey and step-grandchildren, Cameron, Cyrie, Andrew, Alison and Wheeler. Also surviving are his brothers, Lawrence ‘Larry’ Stage (Linda), Thomas Stage and sister, Mary Stage Babcock (Randy) as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was also previously married to his late wife, Catherine Neuman Stage, whom he cherished. He was predeceased by his sister, Lois Stage Jolly (Bill) and brother, Glenn Jr. ‘Junie’ Stage (Barbara).
