John W. Chapman

John W. Chapman, 70, of Virgil Road, Dryden, passed away following a brief illness on March 30, 2020.  

A lifelong area resident, he was born July 17, 1949, a son of the late William and Roberta Beebe Chapman.

John graduated from Cortland High School and then went to Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3), graduating in the very first class in 1970.

He retired, after 42 years of service, from Frontier Communication, where he was a telephone installer and repair technician.

Surviving is his loving wife of 49 years, Susan Lusk Chapman; three children, Chris (Teresa) Chapman of Corning; Peter Chapman of Ithaca and Kelly Chapman of Cortland; a sister, Debra Chapman (Mike Lerew) of Avon Park, FL; and four grandchildren, Gage, Alyson, Gavin and Ian Chapman.

Memorial services will be held privately for the family at this time.
