Jean Ann Cicioni, 79, of Lyncort Dr., Cortland, passed away on August 1, 2021 peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family. Born June 9, 1942 in Scranton PA, to the late Ambrose and Gertrude Lupcho.
Moving her family to Texas from Pennsylvania to raise her children, working two jobs most of the time, she instilled great work ethic and a tremendous sense of responsibility in her kids. Throughout her career she held numerous titles but working with people in the retail industry was her most rewarding. After having retired to Muncy, PA from Arkansas in 2003, she had an opportunity to move to Cortland in 2011 to be closer to her children and grandchildren, her greatest joy in the world.
She had an immense love of nature, gardening and was incredibly passionate about crafting. She had amazing talent and was truly gifted in her painting and creativity. Jean possessed an incredible sense of humor always making those who crossed her path laugh and smile.
Surviving are her two children, Jason D. (Richalle) Cicioni of Cortland and Angela J. Cicioni of Montpelier, VT; her three grandchildren, Anthony, Isabella and Marcus Cicioni all of Cortland; a brother, Robert Alan; nieces and nephews, Scott, Mark and Kimberly; her cousin, Carol Butcko; special friends, Dolores Battiato, Sharyn (Jack) Wertman, Mary Kay Lamb and Jill Rochfort as well as her beloved cat, McFarland.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at St. Margaret’s Church, 14 Copeland Ave., Homer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dan Caughey.
