Janice L. Griffin

Janice L. Griffin of Main Street, Homer passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2021 at the age of 71.

A lifelong area resident, Janice was born April 5, 1950 a daughter of the late Earl and Roselyn Barton Cook.

She started her employment career with NCC Industries where she spent more than 20 years, and later moved on to the Cortland Standard as a Classified Ad Representative for another 14 years, retiring in 2016.  Janice enjoyed her daily walks, lunches with her high school friends, her grandchildren and her cats.

Surviving are her three children, Steven T. Griffin of Homer; Brian L. (Kathleen) Griffin of Cortland and Stacy L. (Scott) Alexander of Homer; her grandchildren, Jack D. Mertz; Henry S. Griffin and Ryan T. and Kyle S. Griffin; her three sisters, Jean A. Baraclough of Hagerstown, MD; Patricia Cook of Jensen Beach, FL and Theresa M. Humphrey of Cortland.

Janice was predeceased by a sister, Constance Spears and her grandson, Marky Mertz.

In keeping with Janice’s wishes, there will be no services.
