Janet Wilkins Dickinson

Janet Wilkins Dickinson of Auburn, NY, passed away on February 9, 2021.

Janet was born May 8, 1934 in Cortland, NY to Robert and Dorothy Wilkins. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Duane Dickinson; daughter, Donna Dickinson; two sisters, Judy and Joyce; brother, Judson Wilkins, and her companion, Robert House of Auburn.

Surviving are her children, Sally Brown Kurtz of Homer, NY; Sandra Brown of Hamilton, MT; Steven Brown (Lynda) of Simpsonville, SC; Scott Brown (Teri) of Auburn, NY and Anne Dean (Dwayne) of Kirkville, NY; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Janet graduated from Homer High School in 1951 and was NYYS President of FHA. She also graduated from the Barbizon School of Modeling in NYC, where she modeled and was National Vegetable Queen. ‘Jan’ went on to be Mrs. New York State and participated in the Mrs. America Pageant.

She was the owner of Jan’s Fashions and retired from Prudential Insurance. Janet was a member of the Little York Garden Club, Homer American Legion Auxiliary and was a Life Member of the Auburn VFW Auxiliary.

Memorial services will be at the convenience of the family.
