Gregory J. Chapman

Gregory Chapman, 42, of Tully, NY entered into Eternal Glory in the early morning hours of November 25, 2022, at his parent’s home in Tully, while under the care of CNY Finger Lakes Hospice, following a brief illness.

He was born November 30, 1979 in Cortland, NY, the son of Richard J. and Barbara E. James Chapman.

Greg was a graduate of Tully High School, class of 1997. He graduated from Alfred State University in 1999 and Oswego State University in 2002 majoring in business.

Greg enjoyed watching NY Yankees, SU football, and playing golf. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his son.

In addition to his parents, Greg is survived by the light of his life, his son, Declan Chapman with whom they enjoyed countless hours of outdoor activities. He is survived by his sister, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Ledbetter; nephew, Dade and Kodiak Ledbetter; all of Tully; his step-grandfather, Harry Sprague of Hancock and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Richard and Wilma (Sprague) Chapman and Helen and Lynn (Boo Bear) James.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel Thibault, Pastor of Rose Hill Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in East Homer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to NBT Bank, 5789 Route 80, Tully, NY 13159 for his son’s future educational endeavors.
