Elwood F. ‘Punk’ Parker, Jr., 76, of Homer, passed away following a period of declining health on Friday, June 16, 2023 in the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.
A lifelong area resident, he was born December 26, 1946 in Cortland the eldest child born to the late Elwood and Berdeltha Smith Parker, Sr.
He retired from Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3), where he was employed for 25 years as a cleaner. He had previously worked for several years as a cleaner at Cornell.
Punk loved to hunt and fish, but his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Surviving is his loving wife, Lucia C. Parker; his children, Stacy (Glenn) Beebe; Shawn Parker, Sr.; Stephanie (Edward) West; Eric Smith; April (Frank) Thompson, Jr.; and Wendy Cruz. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great grandchildren and his siblings, Bryan (Donna) Parker; Brenda (Joel) Parker; Tony (Bonnie) Parker; Troy (Bonnie) Parker as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with Mr. Parker's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
