Earl R. Randolph, 85, of Cortland, passed away on May 27, 2024, surrounded by his family following a period of declining health.
He was born July 28, 1938 in Waverly, NY, a son of the late Raymond and Margaret Rounds Randolph. Moving to Cortland, NY and for several years attending Cortland Schools until the end of eighth grade when the family moved to Hoy Road; then attended Homer School where he graduated in 1956.
He was the owner and operator, along with his brother, Robert, of Randolph Brothers Farm in Cortland for 50+ years.
Earl was a former member of the Homer Lodge #352 F. & A.M., a former member of the Homer AGWAY Store Committee, the Cortland County FHA Committee and a former member of the Cortlandville Zoning Board.
Earl was passionate about flying; and he and his brother were known as the “Flying Farmers.” He had been an avid pilot for 50+ years.
Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Janet I. Lewis Randolph; his children, Donna I. (Murray) Kinney of Virgil; William E. Randolph of Cortland; Patrick M. (Kelly) Randolph of Homer; a brother, Robert E. (Shirley) Randolph of Cortland; his sister, Linda A. (Charles) Woodworth of Rock Hill; SC; five loving grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was predeceased by a son, Scott A. Randolph in 2020.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer for all of those that wish to attend. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service at the Super Cream Dairy Bar, 75 N. West St., Homer.
