Dorothy L. Smith

Dorothy L. Smith, 97, formerly of Moravia, passed away on January 31, 2025.

A lifelong area resident, she was born February 24, 1927 in Solon, a daughter of the late Edward L. and Ione L. Bingham Atkins.

Dorothy was employed for more than 20 years at the Modern Market in Moravia. She had previously worked at TOPS in Ithaca and Smith Corona.

She is survived by her two children, Will Smith of Schenectady; and Roma (Ray “Toad”) Morris of Moravia; five grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. 

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Jack B. Smith in 2018; her daughter, Sharon Fiorille, granddaughter, Jennifer Smith; and a brother and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Atwater Cemetery, Homer.
