Donald C. Withey

Donald C. Withey, 71, of Cortland, passed away unexpectedly on February 16, 2022.

A lifelong area resident, he was born November 19, 1950, the son of Ellis and Louise Hammond Withey.

Don had been employed as a glazier most of his life, working at Cortland Glass Company, Seven Valley Glass Company, and The GlassSmith in Homer.

Don was a car enthusiast, with a passion for building and restoring cars and watching NASCAR. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching TV and movies, collecting coins, and working with his hands. He participated for several years in local archery leagues and enjoyed building houses with his brothers.

Surviving is his mother, Louise A. Withey; two daughters, Traci L. (Donald) Pier of Warners and Kelli A. (Zephyr) Greyhaven of Henry, VA; siblings, Marjorie (Richard) Jenney of Virgil, David (Arlen) Withey of Groton, and Dale (Nancy) Withey of Homer, and close friend, Wendy Brockner. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Katelynn and Lucas Pier, Tiberius “TJ” Greyhaven and a fourth grandchild due in July.

He was predeceased by his father, Ellis G. Withey in 2019.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer.

Graveside services will be held in the spring in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer.
