Donald W. Allen

Donald W. Allen, 87, of Little York Crossing Road, passed away on August 21, 2025 while under the care of Hospice and his loving family.

A lifelong resident of Little York, Don was born May 25, 1938, a son of the late Carl and Lillian Rofe Allen.

He had been a milk truck driver for Preble Milk for 35 years and also owned a poultry farm with over 10,000 chickens.

Surviving is his loving wife of 64 years, Gloria Parker Allen; his three children, Wayne (Mary) Allen of Scott; Scott (Karen) Allen of Otisco and Lisa (Brian) Goff of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Heath Allen and Brianca Goff, Christopher Goff, and Lucy Goff as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by a granddaughter, Nicole Allen and his siblings, Dorthea Allen, Betty Howe, Margaret Murphy, William Allen and Arden Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 20205, at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 U.S. Route 11, Homer, with Pastor Tom Rofe serving as celebrant.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00p.m.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Cortland SPCA, 879 McLean Rd., Cortland, NY 13045.

The Allen family would like to thank Elizabeth McBride and Kelsey Wheatly for the wonderful care they provided Don in his final days.
