Dena D. Russell

Dena D. Russell, 73, of Homer, passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2023. 

A lifelong area resident, she was born November 15, 1949, a daughter of the late Byron and Ida Burchell Dever. 

Following the death of her late husband, Charles L. Russell in 2003, Dena began working at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, in the coffee shop.

She was a former member of the Atwater Cemetery Board of Directors.

Surviving are her three children, Lisa (Stacy) Jursick of Groton; Tina Russell of Homer and Timothy (Tabitha) Russell of Sevierville, TN; her seven loving grandchildren, Timothy Russell, Jr.; Cassondra Russell; Dwight Russell; Jacob Russell; Megan (Cody) Jursick Hedrick; Rachel Jursick and Hope Jursick; a sister, Nancy (Alan) Saulsbury of Homer and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dena was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane (George) Lake.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Atwater Cemetery, Route 41, Homer.
