David W. Brown

David W. Brown of Penguin Dr., Cortland, passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2021 at the age of 41.

Born in Cortland on February 19, 1980 he was the son of David L. Brown and Nancy L. Janack.

He was most recently employed at Orchard Earth and Pipe in Onondaga.

David loved being in the outdoors, whether fishing, camping, hunting, metal detecting, searching for ginseng or hiking with his mother. He loved his family and was an unofficial dad to several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Surviving are his two daughters, Sophia Erin and Dominique Oralee Brown of Chittenango; his mother, Nancy L. Malison of Cortland; father, David Brown of Lafayette; his siblings, Patrick (Nancy) Brown; Oralee Brown; Steven (Stacy) Hobart; Harold ‘Sod’ (Chrissy) Brown; Kevan Brown, Colleen Vosburgh and Jacob (Tawn) Malison; the mother of his children, Angeline Shafner and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, NY. Interment will follow in Atwater Cemetery, Homer.
