Daniel Mones

Daniel Mones, 73, of Foster Road, Cortland, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 30, 2024. 

Dan was born July 12, 1950 in Bay Shore, NY; the son of Daniel and Grace Kanzler Mones. 

He was a lifelong landscaper and nurseryman, from his days on Long Island continuing with his family business, Valley View Gardens. Dan enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was working outside or camping in God’s creation.

Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Pryor Mones; three sons, Daniel (Joan) Mones of Cortland; Timothy (Michelle) Mones of Apalachin; and Andrew Mones of Cortland; his mother, Grace Mones of Selden.  He will also be missed by his grandchildren Jacob, Ryan, Graciana, and Isaac as well as by his siblings Michael, Thomas, Grace, Richard, William, Mary, Cheryl, and Catherine.

Calling hours will be at Grace Christian Fellowship, 1250 Fisher Ave., Cortland, on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024 also at Grace Christian Fellowship. Interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, will be at the convenience of the family.
