He leaves behind a sister, Selinda Mandarano, his children; Lucia, Anthony, Selinda, Christina (Sam Cutia),Constantino (Sonia), and Tara Ferro. He was affectionately known as Gogg by his grandchildren; Neil, Maria, Nicolette, Callan, Caesar, Lucia, Constantino, Lucius, and Italia, and great grandchildren; Jade and Sage. Tino graduated from Cortland High School in 1959 and excelled at sports. He played on the football team and wrestled, undefeated.
After school he started his own construction and carpentry business. Soon after he met and married the love of his life, Carole. While raising a family, Tino worked side by side with his wife doing what he loved, creating art. They opened Carole Ann’s Antiques early on and Frog Pond Farm Art Gallery later. They loved to travel and went on the road selling their art. They traveled all over the country and all over Europe and owned a home in Portugal for 20 years. They also built a workshop and home in North Carolina where they spent winters working and camper traveling, doing shows and hunting for treasures. Tino also repaired vehicles, refurbished antiques, taught and gave demonstrations at schools and colleges, sculpted, carved, painted, welded and whittled. He created over 20,000 pieces throughout his life.
Tino had many neighbors and close friends and loved to engage in conversations about art, history, current events, old movies, music and just about anything else.
He cherished these visits after his wife passed as they were a huge source of comfort. He is now resting peacefully into eternity with his beloved Carole.
A celebration of life will be held at the family home in Little York at 1:00 on June 29.
