Clyde C. Stoker

Clyde Clarence Stoker, 95, of South William Street, Homer, passed away on September 18, 2025.

A lifelong area resident, Clyde was born March 28, 1930, a son of the late Clarence and Ruby Hubbard Stoker.

He married the former Wanita Johnson on July 16, 1960.

Clyde retired in 1995 from the Homer Central School, where he worked for many years as a custodian. He was a farmer until 1974 and had worked at Berry’s Mobile Milling, Thompson Boat/Chris Craft and K Mart.

Clyde was a “Jack Of All Trades”, he loved to help his family, friends and neighbors any way he could.

He was a lifelong member of the former Homer Baptist Church, a life member of the Homer Fire Department

and a 75+ year member of the Homer Grange.

Surviving are his two daughters, Cindy Stoker of Cortland and Lynn (Jeffrey) Mitchell of Homer; three grandchildren, Matthew (Caitlin) Thiel; Jessica Mitchell (Kevin Taylor), and Brian Mitchell (Taryn Dechow); two great grandchildren, Mason and Quinn Thiel as well as two nephews and several cousins.                                                                     

Clyde was predeceased by his father, Clarence Stoker in 1995; his mother, Ruby Stoker in 1993; his wife, Wanita Stoker in 2010, his brother, Gerald Stoker in 2021 and a niece, Velma Eldridge in 1974.

In keeping with Clyde’s wishes, services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
