Carole L. Hurley, 92, formerly of Park Ave., Homer and most recently of Becker Rd., Skaneateles, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025.
Carole was born August 2, 1932 in Hornell, a daughter of the late Paul and Gladys VanDelinder Grimes.
Carole retired from AT&T, where for more than 30 years she worked as a telephone operator and clerk, both in Cortland and Phoenix, AZ.
She was a member of the Homer Lodge #2506 B.P.O.E; she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and donated countless handmade knitted baby hats to hospitals throughout the country.
Surviving are her children, Michael E. (Nodja) Donahue of Smithville Flats, NY; and Patricia Donahue (Dale Everts) of Skaneateles, NY; three grandchildren, Leann (Richard) Brown; Rochelle (Jonathan) Beyer and Thomas (Ashlee) Donahue; fifteen great-grandchildren, Zachary Everts, Jacob (Hannah) Harold, Abigail Harold, Austin (Alexandria) Hammond, Seth Henry, Danielle Henry, Gavin Brown, Jayden Sharpsteen, Khloe Fisher, Chase Sharpsteen, Rider Brown, Robert Williams, Grayson Williams, Ella Donahue and Jamison Donahue; one great-great grandson, Zayden Proctor; a special niece, Kimberly (Jerry) White of Cortland, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William F. Hurley in 2016.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
