Betty J. St. Peter

Betty J. St. Peter, 87, of Scott, passed away on July 30, 2025 in the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.

A lifelong area resident, Betty was born June 28, 1938 in Cortland, a daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Nash Keep and was a member of the graduating class of Homer High School in 1957.

Betty retired in 2012 after 23 years of dedicated service at the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, primarily in the housekeeping department.

She was a longtime and active member of the Scott United Methodist Church, the Scott Senior Citizen’s and had served many years on the board at Scott Union Cemetery.

Surviving are her three children, James S. (Bonita) St. Peter of Scott; Linda, E. St. Peter of Homer and Jeff E. (Cheryl) St. Peter of Scott; her brother, Robert (Sherrie) Keep of Scott and her grandchildren, Erin (Nick) Casterline; Alicia St. Peter; Eric (Amber) St. Peter and Carrie White, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, Perly E. St. Peter in 1985 and a brother, Thomas Keep.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the Scott Community Church, 6816 State Route 41, Homer. Interment will follow in Scott union Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
