Jane Grant Obituary

Jane Grimm Grant, 87, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 15th, 2017 at the home of Anne and Dave Grant in Greenwood Village, CO where she had been living since early 2017.

 Jane was born in New York City to Arthur and Alice Grimm then moved to Syracuse, NY where she attended Our Lady of Victory Convent School. She received an undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 1951 as well as a Master of Education in 1954.  Jane married G. Edward (“Ted”) Grant II in 1956. They purchased Tallmadge Tire in 1963 and moved to Cortland, NY with their 5 children. Ted and Jane were married for 59 years before Ted passed away in April 2016.

Jane is survived by her children Ted (Catherine), Chris (Lora), Greg (Heather), Dave (Anne) and Jennifer (Keith), her 11 grandchildren and her sister Elizabeth Grimm Hoskins (William). She was predeceased by her brother Arthur Grimm II (Nora).

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Most Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church in Denver in December.  A private burial ceremony and The Rite of Committal will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cortland, on Saturday morning, July 7, 2018.  A memorial reception will follow at the Cortland Country Club from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  All are welcome.

Jane was an avid bridge player and volunteered tirelessly with several organizations, most notably the YWCA.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the YWCA, 14 Clayton Avenue, Cortland, NY  13045.
