Hilda M. Stevens

Hilda M. Stevens, 82, formerly of Preble, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 4, 2017 in the Cortland Regional Medical Center.

A lifelong area resident, Hilda was born November 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Calvin and Vera Lennox.

Hilda was retired from the Homer Laundry where she had worked for about 20 years.

She was a longtime and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Preble.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by her husband of 43 years, John A. Stevens; her son, John (Laurie) Miller of Cortland; step-children, John Stevens of St. Mary’s, PA and Debra (Philip) Youmans of Montrose, PA; her grandchildren, Connie (Tim) Stevens of Cortland; Leonard Moore, Jr. of Marathon and Kerrie Moore of Memphis, TN; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hilda was predeceased by two daughters, Vera Moore and Viola Delaney; two sons, Roy and Jim Miller and a great grandson, John Hartwick.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, 6753 State Route 281, Preble, with Pastor Tim Mowers officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Preble.

Calling hours will be held at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
