Agnes I. Hollenbeck, formerly of Homer, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the age of 101.
She was born July 1, 1916 in Cortland, a daughter of the late Edward and Nellie Mae Branch Breeds.
Agnes retired from W.T. Grant's where she had worked as sales clerk for ten years. She had also been employed as a waitress at Plummer's Turkey Kitchen in Homer for several years.
She was very active at the former Calvary Episcopal Church in Homer. Aggie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, and baking and cooking for her family.
Agnes relocated to Virginia to be closer to her family in 2013. She had many happy memories of her friends in Homer, especially at Ellis Pines, where she had resided for several years.
Surviving is her loving daughter, Barbara J. (David) Chubb of Virginia, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; and her sister, Bertha Brazo of Freetown.
She was predeceased by her husband, George D. Hollenbeck in 1983; her daughter, Joanne Brazo in 2006 and five sisters, Myrtle, Dorothy, Alice, Maude, and Mary.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, with Rev. Peter William officiating. Interment will follow in Atwater Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
