Ronna Sue (Wentland) Blum, 67, born on November 25, 1958 passed away at home on Tuesday June 16, 2026 at home with her family by her side.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kevin E. Blum; children, Scott (Shana) Blum; Amanda Allen and Jonathon (Heather) Blum; grandchildren, Cloey, Greyson, Christian, and Samson; her brothers, Larry (Jane) Wentland and Todd (Nancy) Wentland as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ronna was predeceased by her sister, Jill Wentland; her parents, Kenneth and Marge Wentland, and Kenneth and Margaret Blum.
She worked at Sisters Hospital in Buffalo, for 20 years as an ICU nurse. She then moved with family to Homer in 1998, and worked as the Clinical Nurse Specialist at Cortland Regional Medical Center until 2013. She retired in 2022 from Cayuga Medical Center’s Urgent Care in Cortland as the Nurse Manager, as well working at TC3 as an Associate Professor of Nursing.
She enjoyed her retirement and worked per diem at Homer Central Schools in the cafeteria to fill her time. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion in Homer, NY.
She had a love of friendship, spending time with her loving husband, traveling to Alaska in an RV multiple times. She enjoyed many beach vacations with her kids and grandchildren. She cherished every moment and memory made with her family who loved her dearly. She had a passion for all of her gardens that represent her children and grandchildren. Ronna was an amazing support person for anyone that needed care and compassion.
She will be greatly missed by her family, her built-in family, many friends, and colleagues that were blessed to have her be part of their lives.
A Celebration of Life for Ronna Blum will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the Homer American Legion, 63 South Main St., Homer, NY from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. "No Dress Clothes".
