Patricia C. Niederhofer, 89, of Stanford Dr., Homer, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.
Born October 10, 1930 in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Patrick and Lena Berger Cotter, Patricia had been a Homer resident for over 65 years.
Pat was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret’s Church, Homer, where she was active in the Human Development Committee, the local food pantry, the Home Store, and as a religious education teacher. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross.
She was an avid reader, a NY Yankee and SU basketball fan. She enjoyed having visitors and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In her younger years, Pat enjoyed fishing and bowling with her husband, Carl.
Surviving are her six children, Christine (John) Truex of Cortland; Nancy (Joseph) Cowan of Webster; Janis (Mark) Hartnett of Tully; Carla Niederhofer of Boston, MA; Joseph Niederhofer of Homer and Nancy Ryan (Don Arnoldy) of Santa Clara, CA. Also surviving are her eight loving grandchildren, Mark (Diane) Truex; Alan (Erin) Truex; Trisha, Brent and Greg (Rebecca) Hartnett; Natalie (Peter) Harris; Joel Lipton and Molly Hill, and six great grandchildren, Nolan; T.J.; Kate; and Owen Truex and Celeste and Estelle Harris as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton ‘Dutch’ Niederhofer; her son, John Niederhofer, her brothers, William, James, and Patrick Cotter, a sister, Susan Tagliagambe and her son-in-law, Michael Lipton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2010 in St. Margaret’s Church, 14 Copeland Ave., Homer.
