John Brewer Obituary

John F. Brewer, 67, of State Route 41, McGraw, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020, while under the care of hospice and his loving family.

John was born December 19, 1952 in Binghamton, NY, a son of the late Harold and Ethel Moore Brewer. He was a graduate of McGraw High School and a 2005 graduate of TC3 with an associate’s degree in Accounting.

John retired from the United States Navy following 20 years of dedicated service attaining the rank of Chief Aviation Structural Mechanic.

He had been employed for many years at Cazenovia Equipment, as a mechanic and eventually in the parts department.

John enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, tending to his flower gardens, building flower boxes, Sudoku books and reading but most of all cherished the time spent with his loving family.

Surviving is his loving wife of 36 years, Dale Wetterer Brewer; his children, Tammie (Warren) Weldner; Connie (Greg) Fuller; Kris Brewer; John Jay Brewer; Matthew Brewer; Kenneth Clark; and Kimberly Clark; his sisters, Olive Maynard; Ethel (David) Archer; Lucia (Bill) Murtha; Mabel (Rexford) Ford; Helen Stevens and Sally Stokes. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Weldner; Savannah Morgan; Cassidy Ryan; Samantha, Alyssa and Kera Schmidt; and Paige and Christopher Clark; his great grandchildren, Travis and Keegan Weldner; Michael Brewer; Xavier Hutchings and Drakko Morgan.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased two sisters, Dorothy Downs and Mildred Phillips and a brother, Harold Brewer.

Graveside services, with Naval honors, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Glenwood Cemetery, State Route 281, Homer.
