Elizabeth A. ‘Betty’ Moore, 79, of Route 281, Preble, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020 in the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
Betty was born September 23, 1941 in Lynn, MA, a daughter of the late William and Araxy Emerzian Sharpe.
She was a longtime and faithful communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Homer where she enjoyed singing in the Senior Choir.
Surviving is her loving husband Dan F. Moore; three children, Robert (Willeke) Moore of Zeist, Netherlands; Patricia (Carl) Cote of Groton and Kathryn (Mark) Wood of Greenville, TN; grandchildren, Shawn and Lisette Moore of Zeist, Netherlands; Michael (Kayleigh) Wood of Parish; Heather Wood (Michael Longo) of Liverpool and Nicholas Cote of Groton. Also surviving are her five great grandchildren, Lucas Moore and Qylan Mulder of Zeist, Netherlands and Sylar, James and Astrid Wood of Parish; a sister, Marcia (Ralph) Finocchio of Saugus, MA; brother, Richard Sharpe of Lynn, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by two brothers, William and Gregory Sharpe.
The family will be present to receive friends for calling hours from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, NY.
We will be following NY State COVID-19 Guidelines. Masks must be worn at all times; social distancing practices will also be in place. During the funeral home visitation only a certain number of visitors will be allowed in the funeral home chapel at a time, so please be patient and prepared to wait outside.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in St. Margaret’s Church, 14 Copeland Ave., Homer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Paul Alciati.
