Angeles Carrion Baños Duncan

Angeles Carrion Baños Duncan, of Cortland, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 while under the care of her loving family at the age of 83. 

Angeles, fondly known as Angelita or Angie, was born July 10, 1940 in Cartagena, Spain, a daughter of the late Angel Carrion Fontela and Josefa Baños Aquilera and emigrated in 1968 following her marriage to Stanley M. Duncan, who was stationed in Spain while serving in the US Navy.

She retired from Buckbee Mears after many years of employment.

Angelita was a talented seamstress, who enjoyed playing BINGO, puzzles and gardening, but of all, loved her family, keeping in regular contact with her relatives in Spain.

Surviving is her husband of 56 years, Stanley M. Duncan; two daughters, Tammy J. Duncan and Wendy L. (David) Clay, both of Cortland; her grandchildren, Alezandra (Darin Horrocks), Symantha (Scott Bowman), Patrick, Abigail, Khrystopher, Benjamin, Carter, Ryder and Brooklyn.

Angeles was predeceased by her two sisters, Francesca and Encarna, and her brother, Julio.

In keeping with Angeles wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Duncan’s name may be directed to the American Heart Association.
