Samuel C. Merihew, Sr., 75, of Homer, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 26, 2018.
A lifelong area resident, he was born March 18, 1943, a son of the late Charles Merihew, Sr. and Erma Stafford Merihew.
Sam retired in 2006 from Pall Trinity, where he was employed for more than 30 years. He had a lifetime love of farming, and enjoyed his hobby farm on Cold Brook Road.
Surviving are his children, Sarah A. Merihew and Samuel C. Merihew, Jr., both of Marathon; three grandchildren, Abby Lain Alexander, Mariah Merihew and Mikayla Merihew. Also surviving is a brother, Roger (Kornelia) Merihew of Georgia and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Merihew Price; a brother, Charles Merihew and a sister, Elsa Heller.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3. 2018 at Marathon Cemetery, with Pastor Archie Smith officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Donald L Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer.
