Mary Jackson Obituary

Mary M. Jackson, a resident of Cortland Park Nursing Center, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the age of 93.

A resident of Indiana for the majority of her life, Mary relocated to the Cortland area to be closer to her family.

She was a wonderful and loving mother to her three daughters, always lending her time and talents at school events; driving to band practices or chaperoning school dances. She was also very active in her church.

Mary was also a talented artist, especially painting. Many of her works are on display throughout Cortland Park Nursing Center.

Surviving are her daughters, Judith (Robert) McNamara of Homer; Nancy (Salvatore) Schiciano of Toledo, OH and Susan (Richard) McConnell of La Porte, IN; five grandchildren, Patrick (Jackie) McNamara of Moravia; Jennifer McNamara (Glenn Anderson) of Virgil; Sal (Ashley) Schiciano of Hastings on Hudson, NY; Michael Schiciano of Orlando, FL and Tony Schiciano of Toledo, OH and two great grandchildren, Liam McNamara and Salvatore Schiciano

She was predeceased by her husband, Bryce Jackson in 1999.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Bryce in Carmel Cemetery, La Porte, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Jackson’s memory may be directed to the Cortland SPCA, 879 McLean Rd., Cortland, NY 13045 or the Alzheimer’s Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St, Syracuse, NY 13204.

Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the wonderful care they have provided Mary during her stay.
