Lori B. Funk

Lori B. Funk, 58, of Evergreen St., Cortland passed away following a valiant battle with both pulmonary hypertension and pancreatic cancer on May 20, 2019 at University Hospital, Syracuse. 

Born in Syracuse on July 28, 1960 a daughter of Marshall “Pete” Andrews and Ellen Parlour.

Lori graduated from SUNY Cortland with a Master's of Education Degree.

She was employed for more than 20 years with the Cortland City School District as a Special Ed. Teacher, retiring in 2010 from Barry Elementary, due to illness.

Lori was a longtime resident of South Williams Street in Homer and was a member of the Homer United Methodist Church. She shared her stories, and listened to many others, as a leader of a Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group in Syracuse. In her spare time, she enjoyed scrap-booking and spending time with her loving family.

Lori is survived by her two children, Stephen M. Funk of Cortland and Andrea K. (Andrew) Edwards of Murfreesboro, TN; three brothers, William and Randy Thompson and Steve Andrews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Stacy Andrews and Linda Thompson; and her biological mother, Alice Taber.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, with Lori’s good friend, William McCall serving as celebrant. Interment in Sherburne West Hill Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
