Erma E. Moore of Homer N.Y. passed away peacefully at the age 97 on September 4, 2018.
She was born on July 28, 1921, in Harpursville NY, the daughter of the late Dr. Fredrick and Lula (Bancroft) Johnson. She graduated from Homer Academy in 1939. Erma was a resident of Homer most of her life and was employed by several companies in the area. She was a member of St. Margaret’s Church.
Erma is survived by her daughter, Lana Wilson (Richard) Riley and her son, Daniel (Donna) Moore; her eleven grandchildren; Brent (Mollie), Chad (Lisa), Shawn (Judi), and Dale Riley. John (Vickie), Joe (Tammy), Jay (Therese) and Janine Harmon. Staci Moore Bandavanis, Michael (Megan) Riley, Lynn (Christopher) Frye; fifteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter, and her daughter Judy (Wilson) and son-in-law John Harmon.
Erma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest pleasure was being close and involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives, always taking great joy in their accomplishments and activities. She was a creative flower gardener; and loved to travel.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Monday September 10, 2018 at St. Margaret’s Church, 14 Copeland Ave. Homer. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Paul Alciati. Interment will be held at a later date at the Scott Union Cemetery.
