Celia D. Radke

Celia D. Radke, 68, of Cosmos Hill Rd., Homer, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 26, 2009 in the Cortland Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of the late John and Anna Penaro D’Ambra, Celia was born in New York, NY on November 26, 1940 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

Celia was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church LCMS, Ithaca, a member and officer of the Black Sheep Spinners Guild and an avid and quite successful orchid grower.

She retired in 1997 from the Boyce Thompson Institute, Ithaca, where she worked for many years, retiring as Building Coordinator.

Surviving is her loving husband of 49 years, Henry Radke; her sister, Carol (James) O’Neill of Ridgefield, CT and her devoted Belgian sheepdog.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 149 Honness Lane, Ithaca, with Pastor Robert Foote officiating.

In keeping with Celia’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
